Greetings from Bangkok!
We have an anointing to convene and gather people together. We have not had a combined gathering of people at the grassroots level from MM, FM, Cities or the UofN in a few years. Maureen Menard of the International DTS Center and a UofN Vice President for Training and I have been discussing for the last few years the relevancy of YWAM training and those working at the grass roots.
Following the Development Workshop with Dave and Ali Swann, we will have a Consultation. We will have local, regional and international leaders to listen to the issues you face on the ground, to dialogue and to hear from God together as to what He is saying about this next phase of ministry. This is our 50th year Jubilee. It is a time of reflection, remembrance, celebration and a time of new beginnings with a new anointing.
We want to hear from each other about our training curriculum and how to strengthen those elements for maximum impact and effectiveness. We want to look at what may be neutral or irrelevant aspects and see what needs to be changed or eliminated. Finally, we want to see what issues there are on the ground that we need to ensure are being addressed in our curriculum/training and in our outreaches to better see the Kingdom of God coming in and through all that we do.
We will look at issues like:
- How did your training prepare you for what you are doing in MM, in the cities, and in the frontiers??
- How can training assist grassroots operations to be more effective in fulfilling their calling?
- What needs to be strengthened or added in our YWAM Training?
- What is neutral or needs to be deleted because of its irrelevancy on the ground?
- What recommendations would be made to those working at the grass roots, YWAM trainers, school and outreach leaders?
- How do we get more practitioners or field staff involved in teaching / training in YWAM schools?
- What other topics/issues would be most helpful to you if they were addressed in the consultation?
